Job Description: As an IT Technician at SMDB, you will play a crucial role in providing technical support and assistance to our clients and internal team members. Your responsibilities will include:
- Installing, configuring, and maintaining hardware, software, and network infrastructure, including computers, printers, servers, routers, and switches
- Diagnosing and resolving technical issues reported by end-users through helpdesk tickets, phone calls, or in-person support requests
- Conducting routine maintenance tasks, such as software updates, system backups, and antivirus scans, to ensure optimal performance and security
- Assisting with the setup and configuration of new devices, applications, and systems for clients and employees
- Troubleshooting network connectivity issues and performing basic network troubleshooting tasks, such as IP address assignment and DNS configuration
- Providing technical guidance and training to end-users on IT systems, software applications, and best practices
- Documenting support activities, solutions, and resolutions in a knowledge base for future reference and training purposes
Requirements:
- Associate’s degree or equivalent certification in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field
- Proven experience working as an IT Technician, Help Desk Technician, or similar role in a professional environment
- Strong technical skills and proficiency with operating systems (e.g., Windows, macOS, Linux), productivity software (e.g., Microsoft Office, G Suite), and hardware troubleshooting
- Knowledge of networking fundamentals, including TCP/IP, DHCP, DNS, VLANs, and wireless networks
- Excellent customer service and communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate technical information to non-technical users
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with a methodical approach to diagnosing and resolving technical issues
- Relevant certifications (e.g., CompTIA A+, Network+, Microsoft Certified IT Professional) preferred
